Data acquisition and analysis software for microarray images

Mapix is a user friendly, high performance data acquisition and analysis software for microarray images.

Acquisition

Mapix controls all INNOPSYS microarray scanners. Saving configurations (reading and analysis settings) allows users to define all protocols appropriately for each of their applications.

Reading and integrating the microarray barcode into the image file provides traceability ot the data.

The automatic setting is an efficient option which simplifies and optimises scanning applications.

Images are saved as 16 bit and 20 bit TIFF files inclding all the reading parameters (pixel size, laser power, etc.) and can be exported as JPEG or PNG.

The XDR scanning mode (Extended Dynamic Range), provides a 6 log dynamic range maximising low signal detection whilst avoiding saturated spots.

Mapix image analysis software has been specially designed to handle the very large files generated by ultra high resolution scanning.

Automation

Batch Processing increases productivity by automating the analysis of a large number of microarrays per day. With this feature, users can create their own batch processing method to scan microarrays and analyse data.

Perform all these steps in just one click:

- Scanning

- Gridding

- Quantification

- Export of data as a .txt or .gpr file

Batch Processing with our 24 slide AutoLoader system is the optimum solution for high throughput applications.

Gridding

Using an efficient and configurable algorithm, Mapix automatically finds each spot and aligns the grid optimally in the fastest time on the market.

Automatic segmentation of spots selects delineates useful pixels from th background, providing high quality experimental data.

Mapix includes GenePix Array List (GAL) files for compatibility with a wide variety of microarrays from different suppliers (Staggered/Orange Packing, Protein, aCGH, ...) as well as home made microarrays. Its grid creation function makes it compatible with all microarray formats.

Plug in

Plug-in management is a means of integrating specific user applications into Mapix. An example of a plug-in with its Java source code is supplied as well as a guide for developers.

Mapix plug-ins can access data for images, quantification data and information from the spots grid.

Execution of plug-ins can be integrated with Batch processing and therefore be completely integrated in automating user applications.

Mapix offers maximum adaptability to develop user needs.

Quantification

Gridding and quantification performance is optimised for the high resolution of the InnoScan scanners.

Mapix offers optimal display and rapid learning by providing very interactive commands.

Results are saved in tabbed text format (TXT) and GPR. Automatic gridding allows users to flag spots based on user definable criteria thus providing quality control.

Mapix is compatible with 16 and 20 bit TIFF images from other scanners.

Lowess smoothing and other global data normalisation algorithms are optimised for two-colour mode.

Software upgrades

Software upgrades are continuously available over the internet providing the swiftest response to user expectations.

Updates are included for the first year of purchase.
